As large parking complexes can be overwhelming, especially when in a rush many drivers don’t make note of where they’re leaving their car. But no parker wants to waste their day searching for a misplaced vehicle. The Find My Car function offered on all HUB pay stations at Westfield London was developed to help combat this frustrating time-consumer while providing the highest-level of customer service. Now, with minimum effort, customers can easily locate their cars in a 5,000+ space car park.
This project began on both sides of the Atlantic. HUB Parking Technology worked with Park Assist’s New York team to create a seamless system. In fact, in order to support their visitors looking for a parking spot, the Westfield Complex in London installed a Parking Guidance System (PGS) through Park Assist. Park Assist’s camera-based PGS utilizes its proprietary M4 smart-sensor system with LED lights that monitors parking bays and easily guides customers to empty spaces upon their arrival. Thus, alleviating stress and creating an efficient parker journey.
The Park Assist sensors are located down the centre of each aisle, these M4 sensors monitor four parking bays. They use green and red lights to indicate when spaces are either vacant or occupied and guide parkers to any available locations. This technology was installed as a major benefit to customers and the software was then integrated with the HUB Parking Revenue system.
Integrating with PARCS is part of Park Assist’s technology partnership, enabling license plate data captured by the M4 system to be integrated with the HUB JMS management system. The integration provides end users with the benefit of selecting a Find My Car option at any pay station in the car park.
The HUB-Park Assist integration at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield takes the work and the worry out of parking; it facilitates a frictionless path from entry to exit and increases efficiency for both the customer and the car park operations team.
The ambitious project has just won the SCEPTRE Award – a prize that recognizes the best practice and the best people in the shopping center industry - for Parking Innovation of the Year.
